Cox’s bazar: In a determined effort to familiarize tenderers and procuring entities with the newly enacted Public Procurement Rules, 2025 (PPR, 2025), the Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) conducted two awareness workshops, first at Ukhiya Upazila and the second in Cox’s Bazar district sadar today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the workshops aimed to comprehensively outline the key provisions, innovations, and compliance requirements of PPR, 2025. Chief Executive Officer (Secretary) of the BPPA, S. M. Moin Uddin Ahmed, and BPPA Director Shah Eyamin-Ul Islam, who is also a national procurement trainer, attended the workshops today.
Shah Eyamin-Ul Islam delivered detailed presentations on the issues. The workshops drew participation from local procuring entities and tenderers, aiming to strengthen transparency, efficiency, and competition in public procurement at the grassroots level, stated a press release.
In Cox’s Bazar, the CEO of BPPA, who attended as the chief guest, emphasized the necessity of compliance with the provisions of the amended Public Procurement Act, 2006 and the Public Procurement Rules, 2025. He elaborated on the importance of PPR, 2025, highlighting its role in ensuring transparency, efficiency, and competition in public procurement processes.
M. A. Mannan, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate, presided over the session in the conference room of his office in Cox’s Bazar. At Ukhiya Upazila, the CEO was the chief guest, and the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Mohammad Kamrul Hossain Chowdhury, chaired the session at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium.
In both workshops, Shah Eyamin-Ul Islam highlighted various aspects of the newly enacted PPR, 2025 in his presentations. The initiative reflects BPPA’s continued commitment to ensuring that procurement reforms are effectively communicated and implemented across even the most remote regions of the country.
The Bangladesh Center for Communication Programs (BCCP) facilitated the workshops as part of BPPA’s ongoing efforts to create greater awareness about PPR, 2025 in different districts and Upazilas of the country.
