Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Hosts Iftar and Doa Mahfil in Honor of Freedom Fighters

Rangpur: The Rangpur metropolitan committee of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement organized an Iftar and Doa mahfil at the city’s historic Collector’s Eidgah ground. The event was held in honor of injured and martyred language soldiers, heroic freedom fighters, martyrs, and injured fighters of the July Uprising, as well as students, workers, anti-fascist politicians, professionals, ulama, and prominent citizens.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Farzana Dina, the central joint chief organizer of the National Citizen Party (NCP), attended the program as the chief guest. The event was moderated by Md Rahmat Ali, the member-secretary of the Rangpur metropolitan committee of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. Notable attendees included Rangpur metropolitan BNP convener Shamsuzzaman Samu, president of the metropolitan Islami Chhatra Shibir Nurul Huda, Gono Adhikar Parishad leader Hanif Khan Sajib, and Imtiaz Ahmed Imti, the convener of the Rangpur metropolitan Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.



During the event, injured fighters of the July Revolution and members of the families of the martyrs also spoke. Farzana Dina highlighted concerns regarding the re-emergence of Awami fascists and their associates, emphasizing the need for their accountability. She called for the trial of mass murderer Hasina and the Awami League, and stressed the importance of constituent assembly elections to resolve the political crisis following the downfall of fascism.



The convener of the Rangpur metropolitan Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Imtiaz Ahmed Imti, expressed the necessity for political parties to collaborate to build a prosperous Bangladesh. He reiterated the commitment to work jointly with all political parties for the development of Rangpur.



The event concluded with special munajats offered in memory of the martyrs and the injured of the July Uprising, as well as for the people of Gaza, seeking peace, prosperity, and unity for the Muslim Ummah.
