Dhaka: Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mahfuj Alam today stated that the Awami League is not a domestic force but rather a ‘transplanted force’ from abroad.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mahfuj Alam expressed his views during a discussion and iftar program organized by the Nofel Society in memory of the martyrs and injured of the student-led mass uprising in the capital. He remarked that the Awami League’s influence is controlled from Delhi, metaphorically describing the party as a kite whose strings are held abroad, asserting that this influence will no longer be permitted in Bangladesh.
Mahfuj Alam further mentioned that the Awami League, given the opportunity, would act against the aspirations of the country’s common people. He emphasized the importance of maintaining political unity to ensure that the Awami League does not regain power, referring to past victories against what he termed “Awami fascism” as a result of a united political struggle.

uj highlighted that they are scheduled to be held in December, as confirmed by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus. He urged all political entities to start preparing for the elections, stressing the importance of responsible behavior from political parties, the cessation of sabotage, and cooperation from state organs to ensure that the elections occur as planned.
