July Shaheed Smrity Foundation Distributes Cheques Among 172 Injured Soldiers

Rangpur: The July Shaheed Smrity Foundation in a function here today distributed cheques for Taka 1.72 crore among 172 injured soldiers in the anti-discrimination student-people movement in Rangpur. Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdha, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the July Shaheed Smrity Foundation, was present as the chief guest in the function held at the District Shilpakala Academy auditorium in the city.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event saw the presence of key figures including Rangpur Divisional Director of the Local Government Division Md Abu Jafar, Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Majid Ali, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Faisal, District Superintendent of Police Abu Md Saim, and the coordinators of the district and metropolitan anti-discrimination student movement. CEO Snigdha, brother of martyr Mugdha in the July Revolution, with other guests, distributed cheques among the injured soldiers in the July-August anti-discrimination student-people movement.



At this time, CEO Snigdha reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to standing by the soldiers and martyr families injured in the July Uprising across the country. “This foundation is working as much as possible to rehabilitate the injured and martyr families. Assistance will be provided to all injured soldiers in phases,” he stated.



On the occasion, cheques for Taka 1.72 crore, with Taka one-lakh to each of the 172 people injured in the July-August mass uprising, were distributed. Addressing the occasion, the guests interacted with the injured and inquired about their current situations.



Foundation CEO Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdha emphasized the difficulty in assessing the scale of damage caused by the uprising, adding that measures are in place to ensure the integrity of the list of injured and martyrs. Other speakers highlighted the resilience of young revolutionaries like Abu Sayeed and Mugdha against what they described as unprecedented dictatorship by Sheikh Hasina.



The bloody revolution that began in July culminated on August 5, or July 36 in the words of anti-discrimination students. The July Shaheed Smrity Foundation was established under that name to help the victims of the mass uprising. Meanwhile, financial assistance of Taka five-lakh is being provided to each martyr’s family and Taka one-lakh to each of the injured soldiers in the July uprising. This assistance programme started from November 2 last under the banner of ‘Bangladesh by the side of the martyr’.
