Dhaka: Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 28.5 percent, reaching $1,673 million in the first 16 days of September, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued today. This significant increase highlights a robust growth in the financial contributions from expatriates.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, last year during the same period, the country’s remittance inflow was $1,302 million. The data reveals a consistent upward trend in remittances this year compared to last year.

During the period from July to September 16, 2025, expatriates sent remittances amounting to $6,573 million. This marks an increase from the $5,440 million recorded during the same period of the previous fiscal year. The rise in remittances underscores the continued support of the Bangladeshi diaspora in strengthening the country’s economy.
