Dhaka: The 15th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) was held today at a hotel in the capital. M Naseemul Hye, President of the Institute, presided over the meeting and presented the council report for the year 2024. Secretary in Charge of the Institute Md. Shamibur Rahman delivered the opening remarks.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the President of ICSB highlighted the major activities and achievements of the Institute during the year 2024. These included the successful organization of the 11th ICSB National Award for Corporate Governance Excellence 2023, conducting training sessions, seminars, and CPD programs, the launch of a new website, implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), signing Memorandums of Understanding with various organizations, establishment of the ICSB Chattogram Branch, and a favorable verdict on a land case at Aftab Nagar.
Naseemul expressed gratitude to the members for their valuable suggestions and continuous support towards the Institute’s development, as stated in a press release. A large number of members attended the meeting and engaged in discussions on the annual report, appreciating the Institute’s performance.
The attendees emphasized that the council is diligently working to achieve previously committed targets and to fulfill the aspiration of transforming the Institute into a ‘Center of Excellence’. The audited financial statements for the year ending 31 December 2024 were presented by the treasurer of ICSB, Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, and were approved by the members. ‘ACNABIN Chartered Accountants’ was appointed as the external auditors for 2025.
Senior Vice President Mohammad Shafiqul Islam Bhuiyan, Vice President A. K. M. Mushfiqur Rahman, council members, and numerous fellow and associate members also attended the meeting.
