Dhaka: The results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will be published by July 20, as announced by Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon. The minister provided this information during a press conference at the Ministry of Education’s conference room, ensuring that all education boards across the country have received specific and final instructions to meet this deadline.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the press conference was organized to discuss various ongoing programs of the ministry, including the national-level Startup, Science Project and Innovative Idea Exhibition Programme, and the Primary School Gold Cup Football Tournament. Special guests at the event included State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj and Prime Minister’s Adviser Dr. Mahdi Amin.

Dr. Ehsanul Hoque Milon emphasized the government’s commitment to facilitating students’ access to higher education and reducing time wastage after examinations. He stated, “The government is committed to facilitating students’ access to higher education and preventing wastage of time after examinations. As part of this effort, all processes, including the evaluation of answer scripts of the ongoing SSC examinations, are being completed expeditiously.” He further assured that the examination results would be published simultaneously nationwide by July 20, with all boards instructed to prepare accordingly.

Highlighting the importance of punctuality in the education sector, the minister addressed the issue of session jams, which have caused delays in students’ academic progress. He remarked, “A lot of time is wasted in our students’ lives due to session jams. Where studies are supposed to be completed by the age of 18, many are crossing 20 because of session jams.” He stressed the need to prevent such wastage to fully utilize the demographic dividend.

The minister also outlined plans for aligning the academic schedules of higher secondary and university levels to avoid delays. He mentioned that three-year courses must be completed within three years and five-year courses within five years, with no tolerance for delays or waiting sessions.

Regarding the SSC examination schedule for the next academic year, Dr. Milon revealed that students are expected to complete their syllabus by June 2026. To eliminate session jams, a draft routine has been proposed to commence the SSC examinations on January 7, 2027, and conclude them by February 8, 2027. However, he noted that public feedback on the proposed routine is being considered, and a final decision will be made after further discussions with students, teachers, and guardians.

The press conference was attended by senior officials of the two divisions of the Ministry of Education and directors general of the relevant departments, highlighting the collaborative effort to enhance the education sector’s efficiency and effectiveness.
