Seeds and Fertilizers Distributed to Boost Rabi Season Crops in Naogaon

Naogaon: Seeds and chemical fertilizers were distributed today among small and marginal farmers in Raninagar upazila. The Upazila Agriculture Extension Department organized the inaugural ceremony at the Upazila Farmers Training Hall this morning.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Rakibul Hasan attended the function as the chief guest, with Upazila Agriculture Officer Mostakima Khatun presiding over the event. The initiative aims to boost the cultivation and production of various crops, including wheat, mustard, boro paddy, sunflower, groundnut, winter onion, moong, lentil, and others during the Rabi season.



Officials present at the event included Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Zahidul Islam, Deputy Government Plant Protection Officer Nazmul Huda, and Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officers Aminul Islam and Alamgir Hossain. The distribution effort is set to benefit a significant number of farmers, with a detailed allocation plan.



The Upazila Agriculture Department confirmed that 500 farmers will receive wheat seeds, 4,200 mustard, 20 sunflower, 10 groundnut, 30 onion, 30 moong, and 20 lentil seeds along with necessary fertilizers. On the first day of the program, 100 farmers were provided with incentive packages of fertilizer and seeds. The complete distribution is projected to be finalized within the next 10 days.
