Father, Son Electrocuted in Gaibandha

Gaibandha: A father and his son were electrocuted at Bachhati village in Chhaporhati Union of Sundarganj Upazila yesterday morning.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, local sources said that father Shahidul Islam and his son Shipon Miah went to a paddy field to connect electricity to an irrigation pump in order to bring the land under irrigation. In a tragic turn of events, Shipon accidentally came into contact with a live wire and was electrocuted. His father, attempting to rescue him, was also electrocuted.

As the father and son did not return home for an extended period, the family members began searching for them and eventually discovered their lifeless bodies in the field. Upon receiving the information, the police from Sundarganj Thana rushed to the location and recovered the bodies.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sundarganj Police Station Abdul Hakeem Azad stated that an unnatural death case has been registered with the police station in connection with the incident. Since there was no complaint
from the family, the bodies were handed over to the family members for burial.

A pall of gloom descended over the area following the tragic deaths of the father and his son.
