Month-Long Flower Festival to Bloom in Chattogram’s DC Park

CHITTAGONG: A month-long flower festival, celebrated as the largest of its kind in Bangladesh, is set to commence on Saturday at the verdant Faujdarhat DC Park in Chattogram. The event, which marks its third year, promises to be a vibrant display of flora and an engaging reflection of the country’s cultural heritage.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam shared insights about the upcoming festival during a press briefing at the DC Park, situated near the Faujdarhat area. The Chattogram district administration is spearheading the event, transforming the 196-acre park into a floral wonderland with an array of domestic and international flowers.



The festival will feature at least 136 species of flowers, including Dahlia, Chrysanthemum, Rose, and Marigold. This diverse collection aims to attract visitors from across the nation, offering them a chance to experience the beauty and variety of floral displays in an immersive setting.



The inaugural ceremony, scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, will see Cabinet Secretary Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid as the chief guest. Joining him as special guests are Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Dr. Md. Mokhles Ur Rahman and the Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram, Dr. Md. Ziauddin. Their presence underscores the significance of the event in promoting cultural and environmental appreciation within the region.
