Health Adviser and British High Commissioner Visit Quota Reform Movement Victims at NITOR.

Dhaka: Health Adviser Nurjahan Begum and British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke today visited the injured victims of the quota reform movement at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) hospital. They inquired about the conditions of the victims, who were critically injured by the members of law enforcement agencies during the movement.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Director of NITOR Prof. Dr. Kazi Shamim Uzzaman stated that a two-member team of doctors from the United Kingdom is providing treatment to 85 patients who were injured during the anti-discrimination student movement. The UK doctors have already performed surgery on 16 patients and are scheduled to operate on two more patients tomorrow.

Officials from the health ministry, representatives from the British High Commission, and members of the hospital authority were present during the visit.
