Dhaka: Senior Secretary of the Land Ministry ASM Saleh Ahmed today stated that the mandatory e-Government Procurement (e-GP) system has brought a groundbreaking change in enhancing efficiency and transparency in public procurement. “Everything related to public procurement from tender floating to signing of agreement and evaluation is now being done online. It significantly decreases time, expense and irregularities,” he remarked.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Saleh Ahmed made these comments while speaking as the main speaker at a learning session on Public Procurement Policy-2025 at the conference room of the Land Ministry in Bangladesh Secretariat. He emphasized that honesty and morality can reduce corruption and highlighted the pivotal role that Public Procurement Regulation (PPR) is playing in infusing dynamism, transparency, and accountability in the government’s administrative works.

Saleh Ahmed further elaborated that public procurement management is not only an administrative task but also a key to establishing the rule of law, transparency, and achieving public trust. He added that no system can be completely effective if there is a lack of morality.

The session also saw the presence of the Chairman of the Land Reforms Board AJM Salahuddin Nagri, Records and Surveys Department’s Director General Saidur Rahman, and other high officials.
