According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the present food grain stock exceeds the target for the country’s safe food grain stock, with the government food warehouses currently holding over 22.1 lakh tonnes. This is nearly 8.34 lakh tonnes more compared to the stock during the same period last year. Majumder noted that the safe food stock target is set at 13.5 lakh tonnes, underscoring the achievement as a milestone for the interim government as it comes to the end of its tenure.

The press briefing was attended by senior officials, including land ministry senior secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed and food secretary M Feroz Sarker. Majumder expressed satisfaction with the current stock levels and emphasized that the new government can make decisions without urgency, thanks to this achievement.
