Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus Concludes Four-Day Official Visit to China

Beijing: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus departed Beijing today, concluding his four-day official visit to China. A commercial flight operated by Air China carried Prof Yunus and his entourage from Beijing Capital International Airport at 16:57 local time. The departure was marked by the presence of Hong Lei, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chief Protocol Officer of Chinese President Xi Jinping, who was there to see him off.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during his visit, Prof Yunus engaged in a series of high-profile events and meetings. On March 27, he addressed the Boao Forum for Asia conference and participated in several side events in Hainan. The following day, March 28, he held bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, discussing various issues of mutual interest.



In addition to the bilateral talks, Prof Yunus took part in three roundtable discussions focusing on different themes: Sustainable Infrastructure and Energy Investment, Bangladesh 2.0 Manufacturing and Market Opportunities, and Social Business, Youth Entrepreneurship and the World of Three Zeros. These discussions underscored the importance of international cooperation and development in these sectors.



On March 29, Prof Yunus was honored with an honorary doctorate degree from Peking University (PKU), where he also delivered a lecture. This recognition highlighted his contributions to social business and the development sector, further cementing the ties between Bangladesh and China.
