Dhaka: Home Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today warned that any sort of negligence by any law enforcers during anti-crime drive will not be tolerated. He issued this warning while talking to media after laying wreaths at the graves of martyred army officers in Pilkhana carnage at Banani Military Graveyard on National Martyred Army Day.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Jahangir addressed a query regarding the special operation that began after Monday evening, stating that the success and failure of the operation can be evaluated. He emphasized that no law enforcers, including members of police, BGB, RAB, Ansar, or the prison department, will be spared if found negligent, and they will be brought under the law.

Jahangir also urged the media to report accurately and observe whether the government acts on such reports. He referenced recent government actions against two SPs based on media reports, affirming that the government would take action based on true news.

He noted that this year the Pilkhana massacre is being remembered in an exceptional manner, as the day has been declared National Martyred Army Day. Jahangir mentioned that a commission to reinvestigate the 2009 Pilkhana massacre began its work on January 24 and will submit a report within three months to ensure justice.

Earlier, representatives of the President and the Chief Adviser, the Chiefs of the three services, and relatives of the martyrs laid wreaths at the graves of the army officers martyred in the 2009 Pilkhana massacre.
