Dhaka: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has mandated airlines to refund fares to Hajj pilgrims who miss their scheduled flights due to valid reasons such as accidents or illness. The directive was communicated through a letter sent to Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Saudia Airlines, and Flynas Airlines, which are conducting Hajj flights.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 78,500 Bangladeshis have been granted permission to perform Hajj this year. Since the commencement of Hajj flights on April 18, more than 45,000 pilgrims have successfully arrived in Saudi Arabia.
Despite this, some pilgrims have been unable to board their flights due to illness or other valid reasons. In response, the ministry issued this special directive to address the situation and ensure affected pilgrims receive their refunds.
