Rangpur Celebrates National Productivity Day 2026 with Focus on Skills and Technology

Rangpur:The National Productivity Day 2026 was marked in Rangpur with a call to integrate skills and technology to enhance national productivity and advancement. The district administration organized a discussion at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Israt Jahan.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Deputy Commissioner Israt Jahan addressed the gathering, stating that the government is actively providing support and guidance to entrepreneurs to overcome challenges related to productivity enhancement, product marketing, and sales. Various organizations are also extending assistance to entrepreneurs in these areas.

Israt Jahan highlighted that several institutions offer financial and technical support to micro, small, and medium-sized entrepreneurs, with the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) playing a significant role. She urged entrepreneurs to utilize government training programs, which include opportunities for vocational and technical training at various government technical training centers.

Addressing trade licenses and taxes, she emphasized the importance of annual renewal, noting that while the process may be inconvenient, the long-term benefits of tax revenue collection are substantial. Furthermore, the government provides subsidies across various sectors to support entrepreneurship.

She also mentioned plans to organize fairs to aid in marketing entrepreneurs' products, acknowledging existing limitations but expressing intent to proceed with another fair.

During the discussion, entrepreneurs voiced challenges related to production, marketing, and credit access. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Romiz Alam, Deputy General Manager of BSCIC Rangpur Md Ehesanul Hoque, and Rangpur Chamber Director Partho Bose also addressed the event. Government officials, representatives from various organizations, entrepreneurs, and journalists were in attendance.
