Dhaka: Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) today adjusted the price of Jet A-1 or jet fuel, used for aircrafts, in view of its heightened cost in the international market.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the price of Jet A-1 fuel was increased by Tk 0.95 per litre, raising it from Tk.99.29 to Tk.100.24 for domestic carriers. For international airlines, the price has been re-fixed at US$0.6604, up from $0.6545 per litre. The new pricing is set to come into effect from midnight leading to November 9.
The regulatory agency stated that the adjustment was based on the average Platts Rate from October 5 to November 4. This decision to adjust the jet fuel price for November 2025 was made after reviewing the fluctuations in the Platts Rate for Jet A-1, the exchange rate of the US dollar in the LC settlement of BPC, and the price of diesel.
The circular for the price adjustment was issued following a public hearing conducted in accordance with Sections 34 (4) and 34 (6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003. The hearing reviewed the proposal submitted by Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and Padma Oil Company Limited (POCL).
