Dhaka: The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock has introduced a new Integrated Makeup Course Curriculum aimed at enhancing the skills of BCS Livestock officers. This initiative targets both entry-level officers and current officials holding degrees in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and Animal Husbandry (AH).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the ministry has issued a notification regarding this integrated makeup course. The notification specifies that all entry-level positions within the BCS (Livestock) cadre will now require candidates to hold an integrated degree in BSc in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry. This move is intended to ensure that new officers possess a comprehensive foundation in the necessary scientific and technical knowledge.
To further augment the capabilities of existing officers, a six-month, 30-credit integrated in-service training (makeup) course will be available. This course focuses on modern, scientific, and relevant knowledge in the areas of livestock production, animal health, and extension services. Upon completion of this training, officers will be eligible for registration with the Bangladesh Veterinary Council, thereby officially recognizing their enhanced qualifications and skills.
The Ministry’s initiative reflects a commitment to improving field-level livestock management and ensuring that officers are equipped with the latest in scientific and practical knowledge to effectively serve in their roles.
