Dhaka: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today extended his congratulations to all parties involved in the launch of Starlink in Bangladesh.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Chief Adviser's Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder released a statement on a verified Facebook account, appreciating the collaborative efforts. Starlink, in a separate announcement on its X account, confirmed the launch, highlighting the availability of high-speed, low-latency internet in Bangladesh.
Starlink has rolled out two service packages: Starlink Residence and Residence Lite, priced at Taka 6,000 and Taka 4,200 monthly, respectively. Azad noted a one-time setup equipment cost of Taka 47,000, with no limits on speed and data, offering up to 300 Mbps. The services are available for order starting today, marking the fulfillment of the projected 90-day timeline for Starlink's initiation in Bangladesh.
Despite the high cost, Azad emphasized that Starlink provides a viable alternative for premium customers seeking superior internet services. The introduction of Starlink is set to enable companies to expand into regions lacking fiber or advanced internet infrastructure.
Additionally, Azad pointed out that NGOs, freelancers, and entrepreneurs can now enjoy the benefits of consistent high-speed internet throughout the year, enhancing their operational capabilities.
