Dhaka: Jagannath University’s (JnU) first-year (honours) classes for the 2024-25 academic year are set to commence on June 22, as announced by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Rezaul Karim. This was disclosed during a conversation with BSS on Saturday afternoon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Vice-Chancellor Karim elaborated that the university’s academic council has finalized the decision to initiate the first-year classes from June 22. A formal notification will soon be issued to inform students about the commencement date.
The vice-chancellor further stated that the admission process is nearing completion, with 95 percent of students already admitted. Efforts are underway to fill the remaining seats promptly. He highlighted the university’s transition away from the cluster system, achieving a reduction of time by six months, which he described as a significant accomplishment made possible through the collective efforts of the university’s personnel.
He expressed optimism that future processes would be completed more swiftly, building on the efficiency achieved in this academic cycle.
