Patuakhali: A woman was killed in a road accident on the Patuakhali-Barishal highway in Lebukhali union under Dumki upazila of the district last night. The deceased was identified as Achia Khatun, 58, wife of late Harun Hawlader, of Kartikpasha village of the upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred when a microbus hit Achia Khatun, killing her on the spot. Police subsequently recovered the body from the scene of the accident.
However, the driver of the microbus managed to flee the scene, leaving the police to search for the individual responsible for the incident.
