Bogura: A woman and a baby girl were killed in separate road accidents in Sadar upazila today. The deceased were identified as Rehena Begum, the wife of late Siddique Sarder from the Gopalbari area in Sadar upazila, and a one-year-old baby named Jobaida, the daughter of Didarul Islam Jihad from Mokamtala Bandar in Shibganj upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the first accident occurred around 8.15 am when a motorcycle struck Rehena Begum as she was crossing the road near Matidali Biman Mor. Critically injured, both Rehena and the motorcycle rider, M Naeem, were rushed to TMSS Hospital. Unfortunately, Rehena was declared dead by the on-duty doctors, as confirmed by Kunderhat Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hafizur Rahman.
The second accident took place in front of TMSS Hospital. A private car, losing control, collided with a road divider. This incident resulted in the death of the minor child, Jobaida, at the scene, while other family members were injured, OC Hafizur Rahman reported. The injured individuals were subsequently taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital for medical attention.
