Shahjadpur: A milad and dua mahfil took place in Shahjadpur of Sirajganj to commemorate the 81st birthday of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was organized by Milk Vita Vice Chairman Ziauddin Ehya Khan Majlis (Babul) at the residence of the late MP Kamruddin Ehya Khan Majlis (Sarowar). The gathering was presided over by Md. Joynal Abedin, the former president of Shahjadpur Upazila Jubo Dal.
The speakers at the event included former organizing secretary of Shahjadpur BNP Arif Uddin Arif, former president of Upazila Jubo Dal Abu Bakar Siddique, former VP of Upazila Chhatra Dal Tarikul Islam Mahmud, and former GS of Shahjadpur Poura BNP K.M. Harunur Rashid Harun, along with Jahangir Hossain. They highlighted Khaleda Zia’s commitment to democracy and people’s rights, describing her as a leader who remained connected with the people during challenging times.
Anwar Sadat Khan Majlis Reyaz, representing the Khan Majlis family, expressed prayers for the good health and long life of Begum Khaleda Zia and Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. The dua mahfil was led by Hazrat Shah Makhdum Jame Mosque imam Hafez Alhaj, who concluded the event with a munajat.
