Tangail: State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku announced that both the administration and volunteer teams will collaborate to prevent traffic congestion on the Jamuna Bridge and Dhaka-Tangail highway in anticipation of the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha. Tuku made this statement while addressing journalists before participating in the Rabindra-Nazrul Jayanti festival at the Tangail Shishu Academy auditorium.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the state minister emphasized the importance of reducing the suffering of people traveling home for Eid. Efforts will be focused on ensuring a traffic-jam-free highway by deploying law enforcement agencies and volunteers. Furthermore, the administration plans to issue directives concerning the locations of sacrificial animal markets to streamline the flow of traffic.
Tuku highlighted that the Jamuna Bridge and Dhaka-Tangail highway serve as key routes for northbound travelers during Eid, consistently experiencing high vehicle pressure. To address this, advance preparations are underway to facilitate a more comfortable Eid journey. Special monitoring will target the 13-kilometer stretch of highway from Elenga to the Jamuna Bridge, a critical area prone to congestion.
