Gopalganj: A van driver lost his life at 9:30 am this morning when a bus ran over him on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in the Kashiani upazila of the Gopalganj district. The victim was identified as Suken Bar, aged 30, the son of Jiten Bar from Mahmudpur village.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhatiapara Highway Police Station, Md. Maksudur Rahman, reported that Suken Bar was crossing the Dhaka-Khulna Highway when he was struck by a passenger bus. Rahman stated, “He was taken to Kashiani Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.”
The deceased’s body has been returned to his family, Rahman added. The incident has raised concerns over road safety in the region.
