Two Killed in Three-Vehicle Collision on Sylhet-Dhaka Highway

Sylhet:Two people lost their lives and six others were injured in a collision involving three vehicles on the Sylhet-Dhaka highway in the Chanpur area under Osmaninagar upazila.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred when an ambulance traveling to Dhaka from Sylhet collided head-on with a microbus heading towards Sylhet and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw bound for Sherpur.

Suhel Ahmed, a 47-year-old passenger in the microbus and a resident of Mahamaya village in Chandpur sadar upazila, died at the scene. The injured were taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, where another victim, Khairul Islam, also 47 and from Matlab South upazila in Chandpur, was declared dead by doctors.

Anisur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Sherpur Highway Police Station, stated that all three vehicles involved in the accident have been seized, and legal action is being pursued in connection with the incident.
