Two Killed in Mollahat as Car Crashes into Roadside Tree.

Mollahat: Two people were killed and three others injured in a road accident when a private car hit a roadside tree in Mollahat upazila of Bagerhat district in the early hours of today. The deceased were Tareque, the driver of the private car, and Riyad, a passenger, both from Daudkandi upazila in Cumilla district. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the injured are Habibur Rahman, a resident of Muradnagar upazila, Russel from Daudkandi upazila, and Sohrab Hossain of Titas upazila in Cumilla district. Police reported that the accident occurred when the Khulna-bound private car hit a roadside tree in the Mejhera Gaola area under Mollahat upazila around 3:30 am, as the driver lost control of the steering. This collision left all passengers and the driver critically injured at the scene. The wounded were swiftly transported to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH), where duty doctors declared Tareque and Riyad dead, as confirmed by Sheikh Moniruzzaman Chanu, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mollahat Highwa y Police Station. "We will hand over the bodies to their families after post mortem," he added.
