Rajshahi: Two business establishments were fined TK 80,000 today for running their business violating the existing rules and regulations.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Rajshahi divisional office of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institute (BSTI), led by executive magistrate Zahid Hassan, conducted a drive at Baya Bholabari area under Paba Upazila in the district and found Abir Battery involved in producing battery water illegally.
The court fined the business shop TK 30,000 and seized 4,000 litres of low-quality battery water and other accessories. In another drive conducted in a puffed rice manufacturing factory in the same area, the mobile court found the factory engaged in operating the business without BSTI authorization for a long time. Subsequently, the factory was fined TK 50,000.
