Sylhet: Two people were killed and at least 10 others injured in a road accident at Osmaninagar upazila of Sylhet district early today. The deceased were identified as M Mujibur Rahman, 55, son of Hazrat Ali of Naria upazila in Shariatpur district, and Kulor Bidash, 28, son of Moynar Bidash of Osmaninagar upazila in Sylhet.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred around 7:00 am at Dayamir area on the Sylhet-Dhaka highway when a Sylhet-bound bus of Shyamoli Paribahan (Dhaka Metro-B-14-4286) collided head-on with a bus of Ena Paribahan (Dhaka Metro-B-12-3560) coming from the opposite direction.
Officer-in-Charge of Sherpur Highway Police Station under Moulvibazar district, Mohammad Habibur Rahman, confirmed that the deceased were identified as a supervisor and a helper of Shyamoli Paribahan. Fire Service personnel, with the assistance of local residents, rescued the injured and transported them to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment.
