Rajshahi: A two-day International Research Conference 2025 commenced today at Rajshahi University (RU), highlighting a variety of events designed to showcase research across multiple disciplines. Rajshahi University Education Club (RUEC) is hosting this inaugural conference to present their work and facilitate idea-sharing on transforming societies through groundbreaking research.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event is organized by RUEC-an international platform for researchers, scholars, and innovators-at the Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium. The conference operates under the theme “Advancing Knowledge and Innovation across Disciplines for Social Transformation.” Its primary aim is to provide a stage for scholars worldwide to present and discuss cutting-edge research, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and generate actionable knowledge for creating inclusive and just societies.

The opening ceremony featured RU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Saleh Hassan Naquib as the chief guest, with Pro-VCs Prof Mayeen Uddin and Prof Farid Uddin Khan serving as special guests. RUEC President Raihana Malique Sejuti presided over the event, which also included a keynote address by Prof Muhammad Kaikobad from BRAC University.

Prof Saleh Naquib emphasized the importance of such international meetings for advancing knowledge and fostering innovation across diverse disciplines to address global challenges. The conference aims to bring together global experts, researchers, and scholars to network, share experiences, and build collaborative projects that contribute to academic excellence and shared understanding.

Prof Naquib noted that the conference will play a significant role in generating actionable insights and promoting impactful research, which will aid in building more inclusive, resilient, and just societies, particularly in Bangladesh and globally. The event offers participants opportunities to present original research, engage in academic dialogues, and share practical experiences to inform policy and societal change.

Prof Kaikobad highlighted that the conference encourages interdisciplinary discussions and the convergence of ideas across various academic fields, including social sciences, arts, technology, and life sciences, aiming for a broader impact. Approximately 1,200 teachers, researchers, students, and policymakers are participating in the conference.
