Trade Facilitation and Fair Trade Practices at Forefront of US-Bangladesh Discussions

Dhaka: Assistant US Trade Representative Brendan Lynch paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman on Tuesday morning. During the meeting, both sides discussed mutual trade facilitation initiatives, fair trade practices, elimination of trade barriers, and enhanced trade and investment cooperation. They also reaffirmed their commitment to carry forward bilateral trade relations between Bangladesh and the United States on a positive trajectory.



According to United News of Bangladesh, the discussions emphasized the importance of creating a conducive environment for trade and investment between the two nations. The meeting highlighted the shared interest in promoting fair trade practices and eliminating existing trade barriers that could hinder economic growth and development. Both parties expressed a keen interest in enhancing cooperation to ensure a more stable and prosperous economic relationship.



The focus of the discussions was on reinforcing the existing trade ties and exploring new avenues for collaboration. The visiting US delegation and the foreign minister agreed on the significance of advancing mutual trade benefits and ensuring that the trade policies align with international standards.
