Rajshahi: Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Md. Yusuf Ali has stated that there is no shortage of fertilizer in the division, emphasizing the need for coordinated efforts to ensure an adequate supply to farmers.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, he made these remarks while chairing a special meeting at his conference room this morning to review the progress of the Prime Minister's priority programs and ongoing development projects across the division. The meeting was attended by heads of divisional government departments and deputy commissioners of the eight districts in the Rajshahi division.
The commissioner directed the administration, the Department of Agricultural Extension, Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC), and other concerned officials to work in coordination to ensure that fertilizer is supplied according to farmers' needs. He also instructed officials to regularly monitor fertilizer stocks, supply, and distribution to prevent any artificial crisis, irregularities, or disruptions in the market.
Yusuf Ali highlighted that misleading or incomplete information regarding fertilizer availability could create unnecessary public anxiety. He urged officials to verify actual stock, allocation, and distribution data before responding to or providing information to the media. Furthermore, he directed the authorities to ensure that subsidized fertilizer reaches genuine farmers and called for strict vigilance against misuse, hoarding, and smuggling.
The meeting also reviewed various government priority programs, ongoing development projects, and issues of public interest being implemented across the division.
