Panchagarh: Three people, including a child, lost their lives, and four others sustained injuries when a truck collided with a passenger-carrying easy bike on the Debiganj-Boda highway, specifically in the Pakuritola area under Debiganj upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased have been identified as Shyamoli Rani, 30, from the Nayadighi area of Sakoa Union; Bharosa Rani, 35, from Jotbhubonpara area of Pamuli Union; and Deboshree Rani, 7, from Rajarhat Kaliganj area of Dandal Union. The victims were returning from a cremation ceremony in the Bhaulaganj area when the accident occurred.
Inspector (Investigation) of Debiganj Police Station Prabir Kumar Roy stated that the truck, traveling from Boda towards Debiganj, collided with the easy bike, injuring all 10 passengers. Locals rushed the injured to Debiganj Upazila Health Complex, where Shyamoli Rani was declared dead by the on-duty doctor.
Due to the critical condition of the other injured individuals, they were transferred to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. Unfortunately, Deboshree Rani and Bharosa Rani succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
