Three Killed in Dhamrai Road Crash

Dhamrai: Three people were killed when a pickup collided with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Kalampur-Saturia-Nagpur road in Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka on Thursday. The tragic incident unfolded in the evening at Nandeshwari, resulting in the death of three individuals.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the deceased were identified as Akhi Akter, daughter of Abul Hossain from Isapur village, Zakaria Hossain, son of Jashim Uddin from Sadar upazila in Tangail district, and Jewel Hossain, who was driving the auto-rickshaw. Ilias Hossain, in-charge of Kawalipara Bazar police camp, reported that the collision caused the three-wheeler to twist and plunge into a roadside ditch.

The impact of the crash left two people dead on the spot, while the driver of the auto-rickshaw sustained injuries. The injured driver was promptly taken to Saturia Upazila Health Complex in Manikganj district, where medical professionals later declared him dead. The accident highlights the ongoing challenges of road safety in the region.
