Law Enforcement Agencies Intensify Efforts to Uphold Law and Order: Monzoor

Barishal: State Minister for Housing and Public Works Ahammad Sohel Monzoor has announced that law enforcement agencies and the administration have intensified their efforts to maintain law and order. This announcement was made during a special meeting on the overall law and order situation held at the conference room of the Barishal Deputy Commissioner's Office.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the state minister highlighted the government's commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, drugs, and terrorist activities, as declared by the Prime Minister from the onset of the BNP's rise to power. Monzoor emphasized that there will be no concessions for anyone involved in such activities, stressing that no one is above the law. He further stated that all government officials and employees have been instructed to perform their duties with honesty and sincerity.

Monzoor also provided updates on ongoing projects in Barishal, stating that the cancer hospital in the region is slated to open by April next year, and the Barishal Novotheatre project is expected to be completed by December. He assured that there would be no further delays in these projects and that the ministry remains vigilant in ensuring the quality of every project.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister's Political Adviser Zahir Uddin Swapan and chaired by Deputy Commissioner Md. Mamun Khandaker. Other attendees included Barishal City Corporation Administrator Advocate Bilkis Akhter Jahan Shirin, Barishal District Council Administrator Akon Kuddusur Rahman, heads of various government offices and departments in Barishal district, senior officials of law enforcement agencies, and top leaders of the Barishal metropolitan and district units of the BNP and its affiliated and associate organizations.
