Tamim falls early as Bangladesh post 69 at day 1 lunch

Tamim Iqbal (9) fell prey to Kemar Roach early in the morning of Chattogram Test against West Indies on Wednesday.

At the lunch of day one, Bangladesh posted 69 for two in 29 overs.

Bangladesh chose to bat first after winning the toss but the hosts failed to come up with a steady start as they lost two wickets in the first session.

The ball was on the length and Tamim when he tried to defend but he failed to connect it which went through his bat and pad and broke his stumps.

Scoring 9 runs, Tamim (4,414) became the most-run getter for Bangladesh in Tests surpassing Mushfiqur Rahim (4,413). Mushfiqur, however, might get a chance to surpass Tamim in the same Test.

Najmul Hossain Shanto joined Shadman Islam in the second wicket stand and they added 43 runs. They looked comfortable in the middle despite Kemar and Shannon Gabriel were showing some serious pace and bounce.
