Sylhet: Located in the remote northeastern hills of Sylhet, Lovachora has a huge tourism potential due to its untouched natural beauty, rich history, and flowing river. Situated near the Kanaighat Upazila, Lovachora lies just a few kilometers from the Indian border, making it one of Bangladesh’s most scenic yet lesser-known travel spots.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, despite its relatively low profile in mainstream tourism, Lovachora is steadily gaining attention from domestic travelers seeking offbeat experiences. Surrounded by rolling hills, tea gardens, crystal-clear streams, and century-old ruins, the region offers a unique blend of adventure and tranquillity. Sirajul Islam, a restaurant owner at Molagula Bazar of Lovachora, mentioned that although the area is beautiful, it sees few tourists due to its challenging accessibility.

The journey to Lovachora begins from Sylhet city and requires roughly three hours to reach. Travelers must first head to Kanaighat Bazar by road and then take a boat to Lovachora, a journey that takes about an hour. As visitors approach Lovachora, the landscape transforms dramatically, presenting vast stone beds, freshwater streams, and natural pools bordered by dense forests, offering an almost cinematic view.

The Lovachora River, originating from the Indian hills, flows gracefully through this terrain, providing opportunities for boat rides, swimming, and riverside picnics. Despite its growing popularity on social media platforms, Lovachora remains largely untapped. Md Kamal Hossain, a local businessman, emphasized the importance of sustainable travel, expressing the desire for visitors to respect the land, water, and local inhabitants.

Currently, there are no formal tourist facilities in Lovachora, and mobile network coverage is limited in some parts of the region. Kamal noted that since the suspension of stone withdrawal from the Lovachora River, the river ecosystem has improved, enhancing the natural beauty of the area.
