Speaker to visit Pirganj tomorrow

RANGPUR, May 19, 2017 (BSS) - Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad and Chairperson of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Executive Committee Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will visit her constituency Rangpur-6 (Pirganj) tomorrow (Saturday).

Dr Shirin will arrive at Dak Bungalow in Pirganj upazila town in the morning to take part in various programmes at different places, official and local Awami League (AL) sources said.

The Speaker will attend a ceremony to accord reception to 330 students of 38 educational institutions who came out with brilliant results in the last SSC examinations followed by a discussion to be organised by Bangamata Parishad on Khalashpeer Bangabandhu Degree College ground.

She will inaugurate construction works of academic buildings of Sahapur Girls' School and Rajarampur Junior School by unveiling plaques of the foundation stones and inaugurate newly built Pirganj Central Shaheed Minar and Muktijoddha Complex.

Dr Shirin will also inaugurate the newly built Pirganj Upazila Complex, different bridges and culverts, newly built complexes of Kabilpur and Baro Alampur union parishads and two-storey academic building of Madarganj Degree College.

Besides, the Speaker will distribute corrugated iron sheets and cash money among the victims of recent natural calamities and disasters and wheel chairs among the people with special needs.

Talking to BSS today, General Secretary of Pirganj upazila AL and Mayor of Pirganj municipality Tazimul Islam Shamim and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kamal Kumar Ghosh said all preparations have been completed to make her Pirganj visit successful.
