Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, MP, unveiled the cover of the first publication of the new daily 'Dainik Socheton Bangladesh' newspaper today at her parliament office.
On the occasion, the Speaker said Dainik Socheton Bangladesh newspaper, being imbued with the spirit and ideals of the country's Great Liberation War, will move forward by providing true and objective journalism.
This daily newspaper would play an important role in covering the news of the national parliament and the development of art, literature and culture of the country, ensuring women's rights and gender equality, she expressed the hope.
Earlier, on her arrival at the function, the editor of the newspaper Md Ibrahim Khalil received the Speaker with a bouquet.
The editor sought everyone's cooperation in running the daily.
Treasury bench lawmaker AKM Shamim Osman MP, and officials of the Speaker office were also present there.
