SYLHET: Pacer Shohidul Islam’s impressive four-wicket performance guided Dhaka Metro to their second consecutive win, overcoming Rajshahi by eight runs in a closely contested match at the NCL T20 tournament held at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dhaka Metro, after being put to bat first, managed to score 162 runs before being bowled out in 19.5 overs. Captain Naim Sheikh’s brisk innings of 43 runs off 23 balls, featuring six fours and two sixes, set the tone for Metro. Gazi Tahjbul Islam contributed with 31 runs off 18 balls, adding crucial runs to the scoreboard.
In response, Shohidul Islam dismantled the Rajshahi batting order, claiming four wickets for 21 runs. Despite a strong effort from veteran Farhad Reza, who scored a fighting 60 runs off 35 balls with seven fours and three sixes, Rajshahi fell short. The lack of support from other batsmen saw Rajshahi being bowled out for 154 in their allotted 20 overs, marking their second consecutive defeat in the
tournament.
