DHAKA: The Yonex-Sunrise Bangladesh Junior International Badminton Series is set to begin tomorrow at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in Dhaka. The event will feature participants from Bangladesh, India, and Indonesia competing across five categories, with a total prize pool of $5,000. Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain is expected to inaugurate the tournament as the chief guest at 3:30 p.m.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tournament will include women’s and men’s singles and doubles, as well as mixed doubles categories. Following the junior series, the senior International Badminton Series is scheduled to take place from December 17 to 21 at the same venue, with players from 19 countries competing. Participating nations in the senior series will include India, Thailand, Myanmar, Canada, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Japan, Maldives, Ukraine, Italy, Finland, Bulgaria, Uganda, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, England, and host Bangladesh.
