Narayanganj: A schoolboy was killed in a road accident near Kanchpur Bridge in Sonargaon upazila of the district last night. The deceased was identified as Dipu, 10, son of Sagar of Senpara in the upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident took place around 10:30 pm on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway when a truck ran over Dipu, as reported by Kanchpur Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Quader Jilani. He confirmed that Dipu died on the spot.
Efforts are underway to arrest the driver responsible for the accident. The body has been handed over to Dipu’s family, OC Jilani stated.
