Dhaka: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is all set to increase the match fee of the cricketers, participating in the upcoming NCL T20.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BCB Tournament Committee chairman Akram Khan confirmed the development, saying that the match fee of the players will be Tk. 40,000, up from Tk. 25,000 this year. Khan stated, “We are going to increase the facilities of the players in the upcoming NCL T20,” emphasizing the board’s commitment to enhancing player remuneration.

The NCL T20 is set to kick off in September this year, featuring eight teams, including seven divisional teams and Dhaka Metro, maintaining the format from the previous season. The tournament, launched last year exclusively for local players, has been praised for providing significant opportunities for players to hone their skills in the T20 format.

Last year’s tournament was held solely in Sylhet. However, the BCB has decided to expand the tournament’s reach by hosting matches in three venues this year: Sylhet, Bogra, and Rajshahi, allowing a broader audience across the country to engage with the event.
