Dhaka: The Department of Law at Rajshahi University (RU) has entered a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO) and BRAC to establish internship opportunities for its law students.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, under this new agreement, BRAC will provide internship placements for students within the Law Department. Additionally, students will have the chance to gain hands-on experience at NLASO, which has recently been elevated to the status of a directorate, as revealed by a press release from RU.
Furthermore, the MoU details plans to establish a Legal Aid Clinic on the university campus, where students will have the opportunity to offer legal advisory services. The three parties involved will also collaborate on organizing legal research initiatives, meetings, seminars, and other related activities to enrich the educational experience.
The signing ceremony, which took place in Dhaka, was attended by Professor Saeeda Anju, Chair of the Law Department, along with faculty members and senior officials from both BRAC and NLASO.
