Dhaka: Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood today emphasized that no one involved in extortion and criminal activities will be exempt from punishment. “Strict legal action will be taken against them,” he declared during a meeting at the district administration office.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Iqbal Hassan shared the government’s commitment to aligning with public hopes and aspirations. He highlighted the Prime Minister’s focus on involving youth in the cabinet to drive qualitative changes in the country, suggesting that young leaders will now take on more significant roles than their older counterparts.

The minister disclosed that the ministry is launching a 180-day program following government directives. He instructed district power department offices to prepare and submit their respective 180-day plans. This initiative aims to swiftly fulfill election commitments and demonstrate tangible changes to the public.

Iqbal Hassan urged for maintenance of the quality of development activities and expressed the desire to move away from traditional methods to create a development-focused society. He called upon officials to perform their duties with honesty, efficiency, and dedication, emphasizing that the public wants to see action rather than mere words.

The event saw participation from officials of the district administration, police department, and representatives from Palli Bidyut, PDB, Petrobangla, NESCO, NAOPAZECO, and PGCB.
