Joydevpur: The Road Transport and Highways Division (RTHD) is working tirelessly to repair roads aiming to make the Eid-ul-Fitr journey safe and comfortable for passengers. RTHD Senior Secretary Md Ehsanul Haque emphasized their commitment to ensuring a smooth travel experience during a meeting held at the BRTC Bus Depot in Joydevpur, Gazipur.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Haque mentioned that thousands of people are expected to leave Dhaka for their hometowns to celebrate Eid with family and friends. In anticipation of this, RTHD has implemented necessary measures to facilitate a seamless travel experience. The division is collaborating with the Home Affairs Ministry to ensure law and order on the roads, and significant repair and renovation work is being undertaken on key routes.
Furthermore, Haque highlighted the productive discussions with the Bus Owners Association to regulate fare prices and prevent passengers from being overcharged. Additionally, RTHD, in cooperation with law enforcement agencies, is committed to preventing extortion and robbery along the roads.
The meeting was attended by several key officials, including Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) Executive Director Neelima Akhtar, Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) Chairman Md Yeasin, Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) Chairman (Additional Charge) Dr. Anupam Saha, Road and Highways Department Chief Engineer Syed Moinul Hasan, and Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Managing Director Faruque Ahmed.
