People in the district now began to use
Railway overpass as it opened partially before formally opening by June next.
A good number of people now pass the most traffic congested Gatepar area by
using the railway overpass. Once, people had to wait one to two hours or more
to cross the Gatepar area because of huge traffic snarl as the gate barrier
of the level crossing in the area frequently shut down for moving a good
number of trains.
Earlier, when the train passed the area vehicles stranded on the both sides
of the level crossing created un-tolerable traffic jam. But now people pass
the area within one to two minutes by using the railway overpass.
One Mahbubur Rahman Komal who happily crossed the railway over passed in 90
seconds by his motorcycle said it will save our valuable times to cross the
Gateper area.
View to easing the persisting traffic jam Roads and Highways department
constructed 739 meter long railway overpass at Taka 424 crore in the heart of
Jamalpur town.
The office said con
struction work of the railway overpass will be completed
by June 30, 2024.
