DHAKA, Dec 16, 2106 (BSS) - Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader today urged all pro-liberation forces to forge a unity sinking all differences only to defeat the communal forces.
"Forget all differences and form a single platform among the pro-liberation forces to beat communal forces," he told journalists after placing wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi here.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, expressed firm resolve that under the farsighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh would become a developed and prosperous country in future.
Replying to a query, the AL general secretary said, "The decision of banning the politics of Jammat-e-Islami is now a sub-judice matter . . . I can't make any comments on this right now."
About the government's steps on confiscating assets of the indentified war criminals, Quader said, "Wait and see."
Quader also said Awami League is taking tough stance against the intruders into the party. "And if it happens anywhere, we are taking necessary actions immediately," he added.
