Qatar to recruit more Bangladeshi workers: Minister

The visiting Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs Minister of Qatar Dr. Issa Bin Saad Al-Jafali Al Nuaimi has showed keen interest to recruit more skilled male and female workers from Bangladesh.

He expressed the view during a bilateral meeting with Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam. B.Sc here yesterday on the sidelines of the 9th Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) that began on Saturday.

During the meeting, they discussed various bilateral and multi-lateral issues focusing on the interest of Bangladeshi workers in the State of Qatar, according to an official handout here today.

Lauding Bangladeshi workers, Nuaimi informed the expatriate welfare minister that the Bangladeshi workers have been living in Qatar with utmost satisfaction.

In reply, Nurul Islam informed the Qatar minister that Bangladesh is now fully prepared to send skilled manpower in Qatar as the present Bangladesh government is imparting international standard training to the Bangladeshi workers before sending them abroad.

Later, Minister for Human Resources and Emiratisation of the United Arab Emirates Ghobash Saqr Ryder and Director General of International Organisation for Migration (IOM) Ambassador William Laci Swing also paid courtesy call on the Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Nurul Islam at Bangabandhu International Convention Centre (BICC).
